A colleague of mine gave me an interesting idea. I do search engine optimization as one of the services that I provide my clients, and after getting the same two or three questions within a week, I decided to build a dedicated website string search tool.
One of the most important questions that an SEO has is: where else does this link exist on my pages? This can happen if I have a site that’s been around for a long time and I have a bunch of broken links. Crawlers aren’t always very specific. Semrush costs a lot of money, and it should be easy to find this. Moreover, the problem of generally finding a string amidst the HTML on a website can be a lot of work—exactly the kind of problem a focused tool like this should solve.

As a direct result, I built WebsiteStringSearch.com for search engine optimizers who are looking for a simple way to run a fast website string search, scan a website, and get a table of all the places where a particular string lives on a webpage. So check it out: WebsiteStringSearch.com.
You can also learn more about SEO best practices and internal linking strategies on my main site, and compare this free website string tool with popular crawlers like Semrush or Ahrefs.

Love this! I think this is probably one of my favorite tools. I’d pay money for this. Thanks so much.
